Living On Ice Vocabulary

 Today for my reading I have had to do a vocabulary activity were I need to find the definition for a word then write it down.

  1. Massive: Large and heavy solid
  2. Isolation: The process or fact of isolating or being isolated
  3. Nomadic: Living the life of a Nomad; Wandering
  4. Myriad: A Countless or extremely great number of people or things
  5. Volatile: (Of a substance) easily evaporated at normal temperatures
  6. Solstice: The time or date (Twice a year) at which the sun reaches its maximum or minimum declination marked by the longest and shortest days (21 June and 22 December)
  7. Crevasse: A deep open crack, especially one in a glacier
  8. Ingenious: (of a person) clever, original, and inventive
  9. Usability: The degree to which something is able or fit to be used 
  10. Prosaic: Having or using the style or diction of prose as apposed to poetry; lacking amaginativeness or originality

    Thank you for sharing your vocabulary activity. It was an interesting article about living on ice. What do you reckon it would be like to live in a very cold place?
    You have clearly laid out your words. Next time you could colour the word in red and the definition in blue so the reader knows the difference. Just an idea.

    Good job on completing the vocabulary activity. I like that you numbered your list of words so it is easy to read through. What is the most interesting word you have learned in this article?
    Next time, I'd love to see you included some photos and probably examples to illustrate the meaning.

  3. Kia ora Ritchie - well done on completing & publishing your vocabulary activity onto you Blog. 'Living on Ice' sounds like such an interesting article to read. It would be such a cold environment to live in! Did you know some of the definitions of the words you have posted? I didn't know the meaning of myriad. Maybe next time you could present your post using some different colours to help define the information for the reader. Keep up the wonderful learning. Jen TA (Awhi below)

    I really like this blog post and let me tell you why. I like how well well you explained the the definition of each word. I also like how you added a blurb so people reading your work know what it is. But maybe next time make the blurb a bit bigger.
