The Ghostly Shadow

 This morning during reading we have had to write a story starter refering to the story named ghostly shadow on Pobble 365. 

The Ghostly Shadow

One Minute you saw it next minute you didn’t the ghost like shadow had disappeared behind the dark, dense fog. His curiosity got the better of him, so he wanted to turn and chase 

The fog seemed to be following me, It danced amongst the trees: Slithered, Sneaked in and out of the branches. The trees lining the road, sentinels of the night, seemed to sway in the breeze, their branches reaching up like tentacles clawing for the sky, yearning to escape the cloying fog.

One second you saw it the next you didn’t. The ghostly shadow vanished once again. 

He had come to far to turn back now. Goosebumps shivered on his cold, clammy skin, and he was sure he could hear his heart pounding back and forth in his chest, like muhammed ali punching a boxing bag. Pulling his scarf tightly around himself, he stepped forward into the woods, towards the place the shadow had been...

My Weekend

 This weekend I have had my sisters birthday on Friday where we let of some fire works, I rode my bike and we had cake and that kind of stuff. On Saturday I rode my bike on my ramps and jumped over my family. At 5pm I went to Daniels birthday where I gave him $20 then we went outside jumped on the tramp, played rugby, Went to the skate park and just played outside. We stayed up all-night and jumped on the tramp at about 1am in the morning, We did some prank calls to Mcdonalds, BP and that kind of places. We went to sleep at around 3 then woke up super tired at 7am then watched our phones till about 8 had breakfast then went to the bike jumps at the Groynes where I did a drop and some jumps on Daniels bike. At 11 I got picked up then went home and slept from 11:30 to 5pm and woke up then ate Dinner, I went back to sleep at around 8pm Then woke up in the morning and had to go to school.

  Today I have done a fact chart on William Stedman for my reading task I found it really interesting with some of the facts that I found. This activity was a bit challenging to find stuff about him but also very simple and easy to create.

Fun Facts About Chickens

 Today I have decided to find out some facts about chickens, Because we just got 4 chickens delivered to our house Saturday.

1. Chickens can distinguish more that 100 faces of there own species. So elephants aren't the only animals with great memory.
2. Chickens Know Who's boss-They form very complex social structures known as "Pecking Orders," And every chicken knows his or her place on the social ladder.
3. Chickens have full Color vision-No Color-Blindness Here
4. Chickens Are Real Sleeping Beauties - They experience Rapid Eye Movement (REM) Sleep, Which means they dream just like we do.
5. Chickens have pain reseptors That give the ability to feel pain and Distress.
6. Hens defend there young from Predators.
7. Chickens Have more than 30 types of vocalizations to distinguish between Threats.
8. Last But not least Baby Chickens Are Adorable.

Here are some photos of our chickens which are about 15 Months old. Our Chickens Are Called Rosco, Karley May, Henry Etta and Cruella. 

Commercial producers get rid of there hens at the end of there first lay at 15-16 months old. In there first year they lay up to 300 eggs. In the second year this drops of by %15. They are re homed after there first lay.

Marshmallows on the Brazier

 Last Night I had a Amazing idea to buy some Marshmallows and roast them on the brazier (Basically just a small bomb fire), We all had about 9+ Marshmallows each which was not that much because there is still like 7-10 more in the bag. 

Mushroom & Chicken Pie

 Mushroom and chicken pie, last night for dinner we made Mushroom and Chicken pie my Mum found how to make it on TikTok so I don't know the recipe. This was amazing and very yum I would recommend trying to find the recipe and making this for yourself.

How to clean a toilet with Ritchie Anderson

 Today me and my mum have decided to make a tutorial on how to clean a toilet, I have forget to say some of the items you need but please don't worry about that. Cleaning the toilet is only about a 4-5 minute job so I would recommend doing it every weekend like I do.

 Today I have been working on a Paralympic basketball costume I searched a photo of the NZ flag and a photo of a basketball uniform to refer to. This took me about 10-15 minutes not including gathering resorses.

 Kia Ora Today have made a post about the Para-Olympics where I had to make a replica of a venue at the Para-Olympics I have decided to make a Basket-Ball Court this took me about 15-20 minutes to make. Please keep in mind I did this on my phone so I don't have the best of photos.

Quarantine Cooking

Friday,Aug 20 Tonight we made home made Mcdonalds, Big Macs and Fries. We put patties in the grill set at 200 degrees for 5 minutes, with the chips we did them in the air fryer set at 180 for 20 with spray oil you need to be shaking it every 5 minutes. We had watties burger sauce, with chopped lettuce. Also on the chips we have Anchor Original Chippy salt.

This is my Retail of hitting the target. We take the original story and take make a small change although I have gone for a completely different story I kept the main points but made the rest really different.

   The Shooting Range

I pull the arrow back towards my chest. My arm tensens as I focus on the target. Suddenly I feel a sharp pain in my back as I scream in terror I turn around to see a bee lying on the ground with its guts all over the place. 

 I get freaked out while accidentally releasing the arrow making it go of track heading for the Range owners pig I quickly pull out my bow and rip another arrow into the atmosphere hooping to hit the death capable arrow out of the sky, I wait in anticipation for the ding of the arrows colliding. 

Finally I here the ting of the metal scraping then I realise that the pig the arrow was heading for is only a cardboard cut out and I didnt need to go through all that silent pain of trying to hit the arrow of track saving the so-called pigs life.

The next day I wake up realise that I have a archery competition in 5 hours, I get dressed then run to get the keys for my car, When I cant find them anywhere I realise that I don't own a car so I call a uber telling him I need to go to the local archery shop to buy a new mechanical bow and a whole bucket full of arrows, after we have been to the archery shop I get him to drop me of at the nearest mall from where the competition is being held.  

After the competition a young man walked up to me and said “you are good at archery, but I know someone that is better than you, he lives in that farm over in the distance” “Impossible I’m the best in the country, if you want me to believe you then you will need to prove it to me” so the young man and the archer went walking over to the farm when they got there they walked round till they saw the barn with about one hundred archery targets circles within circles every target had a arrow stuck exactly in the middle of the bulls-eye. Jeffrey came out to say hello, The archer asked “I can hit the bulls-eye every shot but you don't only hit the bulls-eye you hit the exact centre of the bulls-eye how do you do that” “you have your ways and I have mine you see I shoot the arrow then I paint the target. 

Weet Bix Slice

Today Instead of writing we have decided to do some baking where we made something called Weet-bix slice I only took us about 15-20 minutes to make then we put it in the oven for 10 minutes. We have doubled the recipe so that we have had more to feed the whole class. We had 4 groups baking it plus our teacher Miss McCombie  Which ended up being 10 Batches.

Recipe:

300g Tararua Butter, melted 

8 Weet-bix, Crushed 

1 cup Chelsea White Sugar

2 cup Edmonds Standard Grade Flour 

2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder

2 Tsb Edmons Baking Powder

2 Drop Vanilla Essence 

Icing:

3 Cups Chelsea Icing Sugar

1 Cup Dessicated Coconut ( We did not add this item)

2 Tsp Cocoa Powder 

50g Tararua Butter (We did not add this item either)

Skydiving Writing Activity

This was our writing activity for today we had to write a story about skydiving without using the words Skydive or Skydiving. Please give me feed back on what I could write next.

As I am flying up to 25,000 feet my fear kicks in my ears pop as we get to the top. The instructor opens the the door. The count down begins I just jumped out the door when the light goes green I do a few flips my stomach drops as I open the parachute. Suddenly I come up to an empty corn field. When I land the wind catches the parachute and tries to pick me back up but I battle the wind it pushes me towards the van I try to hold onto a bench as The wind stops I quickly. I try to untangle my Parachute It takes me around 10 minutes to untangle when I finally get it untangled I fold it up to put back into the van once I have done that I get into the van to go back to our car.

Lake Rua Sailing

 This year our Senior Syndicate went on a trip to go sailing at Lake Rua. The Kore School of Sailing taught us how to sail. We got to put boats together test our skills and have free sail after lunch. I was very good at controlling the boat at learning how to switch sides of the boat when I turn around I was very good at figuring out how to catch the wind to go faster. I was also very good at crashing into people. The boat is very complicated to put together even when you keep asking for Inscriptions.

This week in Writing we have been doing a characterisation Of Manu a character from a story where they are in a waka travelling over the the ocean to find a new island because the previous island became to small for the tribe living on it.

This drawing is done by Daniel. The characterisations I gave him are: spiky brown hair, scar on forehead, 1 green eye 1 blue eye, short stubby nose, big smile, one short arm one long arm, 6 pack, jeans, red socks and black shoes.

 Split Face Art

During The last two weeks of school we have been doing some split face art this artwork took me about 3 hours in total our whole syndicate has been doing one of these artworks.

The procedure for this masterpiece was to draw the out line of the head and then do the measuring for the placing of the Mouth, Nose, Eyes and Eyebrows then we drew the mouth Nose and eyes then I done the ears before my eyebrows Then I did the here and moved onto drawing the very creative side.

This week in class we have been making zucchini Brownies with John a Zucchini from our school garden this activity was very fun and we will be eating it this afternoon.

The ingredients we used are: sugar, plain flour, oil, cocoa powder, shredded Zucchini (Don't squeeze out the juice), baking soda, dark Chocolate chips and vanilla extract We have left out the salt.

Our learning for this baking was:
